Asfixia is born in 1994 in the neighborhood of Lezica, the base of the band had already played (with another drummer) in Beastlike.
At the little time they become well-known in the recitals for their style energy trash-core with political letters.
In that time newly arrived to montevideo the echoes of the B.A.H.C. and the Asfixia was in syntony with that style.
Them suport to Fun People in their first presentation in Montevideo, and they also make it in the second incursion of the Argentineans.
While here was being formed the "scene" hardcore-punk that have like animators, sharing scenarios with the bands like Depresion adolescente, HPLE, Diskordia, La sangre de Veronika, etc.
In 1995 they participate in the recital "Until the I finish round" sharing the scene with the Argentinean bands Lobotomy, Karma, the local Inner Sanctum, Depresion adolescente, Fakin Birra and closing the night the Chileans of Criminal.
In the summer of the 1996 they record a demo it covers with 3 songs in which stands out the song "Verte a lo que te venden". That same year through Under Records a called K7 publishes "Bajo un mismo cielo", this k7 has included 7 songs the classic's version "Hasta siempre".
The band continues playing during the whole year, and in 1997 they decide to separate.
While some of their members militate in anarchist organizations, Mauricio (guit) it forms with some friends the band Excision that at last serious the only arisen band of the breakup of Asfixia.
In 2001, Catalina offers them to re-publish her k7 in format CD, thing that they accept and so we publish "Bajo un mismo cielo" with the attaché of 3 unpublished songs and the first demo tape of Excision.
It is the homage that Catalina can make to a pioneer band of the "scene" uruguayan hc-punk, and that to the step of the time they demonstrated that the political posture of the band was not one poses, but rather it was demonstrated with commitment and militancy.
